Mr. Mathur, a Hotel Management Guru and a father figure of the Industry, holds a
3-year Diploma in Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition from Pusa, New Delhi. To make his dream a reality, he started his career in the early 70's as a Kitchen Management Trainee, in Hotel Oberoi Intercontinental, New Delhi. Was
appointed as a demonstrator for 2 years in the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition at Pusa, New Delhi. In 1977 joined the Taj Group of Hotels at the Corporate Office at Mumbai as a Training Manager for 8 long years. While at Taj, in 1979 did Teachers' Training Course from the Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism, Austria, to enhance skills.
In 1985 was appointed the Vice President Operations, Resort - Mumbai, a Five Star Hotel part of the Raheja Group. He also has to his credit of training the Staff of various Hotels like The Leela, Mumbai, Sun & Sand, Holiday Inn, The Club etc.He handled the Kitchen, Food & Beverages Facilities, Design,Renovation etc. of the Hyatt, Yak & Yeti, Grand Hyatt, Ramada (Goa, Hyderabad & Mumbai), Surya Best Western, Lotus Suites, etc.
Apart from running his own company, in 2004 Mr. Mathur became the C.E.O. of Tunga Group Of Hotels. This is when the hotel turned into a new leaf and since then, there's been no looking back. Mr. Mathur has not only been responsible for the increased revenue of Tunga, but also taken its dreams of expansion Sky-High.
